DES MOINES, IA (Nov. 16, 2021) – Iowa Confluence Water Trails — ICON for short — has launched a new website showcasing the regional initiative. The site now highlights ICON’s completed and planned improvements spanning nearly a dozen Central Iowa municipalities and nine different waterways. It can be viewed here.

Supporters can interact with existing access points on a regional map, complete with filterable amenities. Throughout the site, users will note the color-coded waterways and easily digestible breakdown of ICON’s existing access points. Additional access points will be added to the regional map as they are developed. This website is the capstone to the Central Iowa Water Trails — now ICON — brand launch which was announced in July of this year.

“We are elated to unveil this website to the public and know that it will be a fantastic tool for those who are already supporters of ICON, as well as newcomers hoping to learn more about the project,” Maggie McClelland, Director of ICON Water Trails, said. “It represents the ICON brand so well, and we hope that it equips users with the information and inspiration they are seeking.”

The ICON Water Trails team and its Marketing Committee worked with Strategic America to develop the website. Users can now explore the water trails, learn about the project’s history and take a peek at the future downtown whitewater access points all on one convenient platform.
